Growing Suffolk tech firm moves to Riduna Park

AN award-winning healthcare telecommunications company has relocated to new offices at Riduna Park in Melton.

X-on is a leader in cloud-based telephony, and since 2012 has been providing its Surgery Connect communication solution to currently 800 GP practices around the UK.

Rapid growth in recent years called for the business to seek a modern open-plan working environment for its workforce of some 80 staff.

It now has a double-storey unit on the park, with areas divided into smaller meeting rooms and collaborative workspaces.

Despite some staff currently operating from home due to Covid-19, X-on anticipates more employees spending the majority of their business day at Riduna later this summer, in line with the vaccination programme and relaxation of restrictions.

Paul Heeren, Marketing Director, co-founded the company with Paul Bensley, back in 2000.

He said: “Relocating to Riduna Park is a great move for X-on, and comes at a time when we’re enjoying substantial growth. We continue to forge ahead into the healthcare market, becoming even more valuable to our clients as a result of the prioritisation of cloud technology during the last year of the pandemic.

“We’re very proud to be a Suffolk company, employing mostly local people, offering work experience to students in the region, and sponsoring the Creative Computing Club.

“This very much feels like the perfect base for us and we’re looking forward to getting to know more of the resident businesses on the park.”

The Riduna Park site, which is also home to East Suffolk Council’s headquarters, has remained a popular commercial location for growing East Anglian companies, since building work began in 2015.

Katie Emerson, Project Manager for Riduna Holdings, which owns the site, said: “I am very pleased to be welcoming X-on to the park, and to know that they will be continuing their growth journey here.

“Paul and his team have created an incredible company which has been shown to be so vital during the last year, and we look forward to watching what further technological solutions result from this next chapter of their business.”

The Riduna Park site already houses XX companies, and the park has been carefully designed to create open green spaces, and areas encouraging wildlife in their natural habitat.
